Abby Still
For nearly twenty years, I have devoted myself to helping people connect with creativity, curiosity, and craftsmanship. As an art educator, I’ve taught in schools, studios, and community spaces, guiding beginners and experienced artists alike as they explore form, texture, and self-expression. Teaching has shaped the way I approach making: with patience, presence, and a deep appreciation for the tactile process. I believe that art is a language our hands speak long before our words can catch up, and that the studio is a place where people can slow down, notice, and reconnect with themselves.
As a potter, I create handbuilt, functional pieces designed to be lived with and used every day. Each vessel holds the intentionality of slow making—quiet rhythms of rolling, shaping, smoothing, and refining. My work celebrates earthy texture, organic form, and the subtle irregularities that remind us of the human hands at its origin. I aim to create objects that feel comforting, grounded, and welcoming in the home: mugs that become morning companions, bowls that gather family meals, pieces that invite pause and appreciation in daily ritual.
All of my work is created in small batches, with each piece shaped individually from start to finish. Because everything is handcrafted, no two pieces are exactly the same—they each carry their own character, variation, and story. At this time, my pottery is available exclusively through direct purchase from me. Keeping things personal and local allows me to stay closely connected to every part of the process, and ensures that each piece finds its way to someone who values the intention, care, and individuality behind it.
